Add panel
Add panel (A) places a new panel with a click on the face of an existing panel. The panel
stretches to its neighbours by itself, so shelves and dividers sit exactly between the sides
straight away.
Starting the tool
Section titled “Starting the tool”- the Add panel icon on the right rail, or the
Akey; - in the panel list:
+next to Dividers & shelves (Add divider or shelf) or next to Carcass panels (Add carcass panel).
While the tool is on:
- the banner says Click a panel face to add a new panel;
- the inspector shows the form of the new panel, which is not placed yet;
- a rail with the tool’s options sits next to the inspector.
Tool options
Section titled “Tool options”| Option | Choice |
|---|---|
| Panel shape | Rectangle or Circle |
| Type | Panel or Blocking space |
| Plane | Auto plane — the panel turns towards the face under the cursor; or one of three fixed planes |
| Fit per axis | for each axis: fit (spans the object) or default size (300 mm) |
Fit means the panel stretches along that axis up to the nearest neighbouring panels. Turn it off for a small panel that shouldn’t fill the whole opening — it then gets 300 mm.
A Blocking space is not a real panel: it reserves room, e.g. for a fridge or a dishwasher. It is shown as a see-through black box with a grid, never goes into the specification or the cut list, and the app warns you when a panel runs into it.
Placing
Section titled “Placing”- Move the mouse over a panel face — e.g. the inner face of the bottom. A dashed outline shows where the new panel will go and how big it will be.
- Move the outline to the height you want and click. The shelf is placed.
- The tool stays on: move over a side face and the outline turns upright — click, and you have a divider.
Escends the tool.
A panel placed against the object outline becomes a carcass panel; any other becomes a divider or a shelf.
Set up before clicking
Section titled “Set up before clicking”Whatever you set in the new panel’s form before clicking applies to the next panels — e.g. another material (and with it the thickness) or edge bands.
New empty objects and this tool also use your defaults from Configuration: thickness, material and edge band.
Afterwards
Section titled “Afterwards”- Set the exact size and position in the panel form — see Editing a panel.
- If a shelf is slightly shorter than the opening, use Snap & fit.
- If the new panel overlaps another one, a warning appears at the bottom right.
Ctrl/⌘+Zremoves it.
