Remnants

A remnant is a piece of board left over from an earlier job. Once you record it, the cut list uses it before taking a new sheet.

Two ways:

  • Materials → Remnants → New remnant, or
  • in My materials, click the scissors icon on a board (Create remnant from this board).

In the form:

  1. Base board — the board from My materials the remnant comes from. The remnant takes its material, thickness and grain.
  2. The remnant’s Width and Height. On grain boards the width runs along the grain.
  3. Pieces — how many such pieces you have.
  4. The Name is optional; the default is e.g. “White 18 – ostatak 800×600”.
  5. Click Create remnant.

The remnant must fit the base sheet. On an existing remnant you change only its size, quantity and note.

How the cut list uses remnants is set in Account → Configuration → Use remnants automatically in the cut list (see Configuration):

  • on — every remnant of a board is used before full sheets,
  • off — only the panels you assigned to a remnant use it (you choose the remnant as the panel’s material).

If there aren’t enough remnants, the cut list adds full sheets and warns you. In the cut list a remnant sheet is labelled remnant W×H. See Cut list.
