Hardware

The Hardware page (sidebar) is the hardware library: hinges, dowels, confirmat screws, cam fittings, shelf pins, drawer slides. Joints in the editor take their drilling from the hardware — see Joints and hardware.

The list shows Hardware, Kind, the manufacturer and Packaging. Filter by name, SKU, manufacturer…, All kinds and All manufacturers narrow it; the Favorites tab shows the starred items.

Items marked System ship with the app. They can’t be changed — Edit a copy makes your own copy to work on.

  1. Hardware → New hardware.
  2. Identity: Hardware name, Description, Manufacturer, Kind, Code / SKU, Finish.
  3. Drilling — Add drilling records the holes the hardware needs (e.g. for a hinge: cup, screws, mounting plate).
  4. For a slide: the lengths under Drawer slide.
  5. Packaging & price — Packaging (pieces), Price per piece or Price per package.
  6. Optionally a Hardware image and a Note for the AI assistant.
  7. Click Save hardware.

Hardware quantities are added up in the specification automatically.

Import from catalog opens the catalogs of hardware suppliers: tick the items (Select all visible for all of them) and click Import to library. Codes and prices come along; items you already have are marked In library.

A joint keeps a copy of the hardware’s drilling. If you change hardware in the library, existing joints stay as they are until you pick the hardware again in the joint.
