Gluing

Gluing is a service of the board supplier: two boards are glued into one thicker panel, or strips are glued along the edges so the panel looks thicker. Panel form → Properties → Gluing (supplier service).

For Mode choose None, Doubled panel or Border strips.

Two boards of the same material glued into one panel. For example, an 18 mm board gives a 36 mm panel.

  • The panel’s thickness becomes 2 × the board thickness; the form spells it out, e.g. 2 × 18 = 36 mm.
  • The edge band is applied to the combined thickness (36 mm).
  • If you change the panel’s material, it stays doubled — the thickness is recalculated.
  • In the 3D view a dashed line at mid-thickness shows the glue seam.

In the cut list the panel doesn’t appear as one 36 mm board but as two 18 mm boards (e.g. “Shelf – doubled panel (1/2)” and “(2/2)”), because that is how they are cut.

Strips of the same material are glued onto one face of the panel, along the chosen edges. The panel looks thicker at the edges without using a second full board. Typical for worktops or thick shelves.

Set:

  • Glue face — A or B,
  • Sides — Top, Bottom, Left, Right,
  • Strip width — one width for all chosen sides.

The strips are worked out from the panel’s size — change the panel and the strips follow. At the corners the top and bottom strips run the full width, and the left and right ones sit between them.

The edge band on bordered edges covers the combined thickness (board + strip). In the cut list each strip is a row of its own, e.g. “Shelf – build-up strip (top)”.

  • Gluing is set for one panel at a time — not when editing several panels.
  • Not available for round panels and blocking spaces.
  • Border strips are not part of the overlap check.
  • Small holes under a strip are not visible in the 3D view (the hole data is correct).
