From idea to specification
This is the whole way from an empty project to the documents for the workshop. Every step has its own detailed page.
1. Project and object
Section titled “1. Project and object”Create a project (or use My first project) and add an object — empty or from a template.
→ First project and first object
2. Panels
Section titled “2. Panels”In the editor, add panels with the Add panel tool and set their size and position in the Edit panel form. For drawers and doors, use groups from templates.
→ Add panel · Editing a panel · Groups and drawers
3. Material and edge bands
Section titled “3. Material and edge bands”Choose the board material and the edge bands — for the whole object at once or per panel. A panel without a material is left out of the cut list.
4. Machining and joints
Section titled “4. Machining and joints”Add holes, cutouts, rabbets and grooves, and joints with hardware: dowels, confirmat screws, eccentric connectors, hinges and System 32.
→ Holes · Cutouts · Joints and hardware
5. Specification and PDF
Section titled “5. Specification and PDF”Open Specification in the side menu and choose the project. You’ll find:
- Overview — the number of panels and sheets, metres of edge band and the hole count.
- Details — the Panels, Cut list, Drilling plan, Cutouts, Hardware and 3D preview tabs.
- Generate spec — a PDF with the sections you choose.
- Lock final spec — freezes the agreed version.
If you need several pieces of the same unit, raise the object’s quantity — every quantity and the cut list are recalculated.
